School candidates may collect their results from their schools at 2:00 pm on 24 January 2008. Private candidates will be informed of their results by post.
Private candidates may also access their results through the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board website at http://www.seab.gov.sg/ from 2:00 pm on 24 January 2008.

The JAE registration period is for 5 calendar days (including Sunday), starting from 3:00 pm on Thursday, 24 January 2008 until 4:00 pm on Monday, 28 January 2008.

For more information on the JAE, applicants can refer to:
a. JAE Website at http://www.moe.gov.sg/esp/schadm/jae
b. MOE Customer Service Centre at 6872-2220 during office hours.

Before you ask me when the posting results are out, I got something to tell you.

"Why neh?" Vincent may ask.
For the benefit of a doubt,

An application fee of $7 will be charged for the first
application, and $10 for amendment of choice(s) to the
submitted application. Only one amendment is allowed. JAE applicants will not
need to make their fee payment online during the JAE period. All JAE application
fees will only be collected after the exercise, by the institution (i.e. JC, MI,
polytechnic or ITE) that the applicant is eventually enrolled in.

And coz MOE noes tt we are all fickled-minded, how can they miss the oppurtunity to grab more cash? (PS. Our current MOE Minister is/have leaving/left for Ministry of Finance)

The posting results of the JAE application are tentatively scheduled for release

a. Form D (containing the posting results) will be sent to all applicants via mail;
b. JAE IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) at telephone number 6691-2131;
c. JAE-IS, which is accessible through the JAE website at http://www.moe.gov.sg/esp/schadm/jae
d. SMS to mobile phone number provided by applicant during registration.

OK. This is my first time writing this sort of compo so dun laugh at me ok?

HEY PEOPLE!

I just want to let you know tt all of you have been great, in studies, in play, and in every other aspects!

Thursday is the big day, the one day tt all your four years of education are for.

However, please do not be nervous as this will do you no help at all.
No matter how nervous or how fearful you are, the results are not going to change.
What we should do now is to await the release of the results with a positive attitude.

When you get your results, don't be sad or go gaga if you have not achieved the grade you want.
As my (tentative) principal had said:

Results are just results.
They can't determine who you are.

It's pretty unfair to base your future on just some examinations held over 3 weeks.
Academically, you may not be excellent, but I believe all of you still have unique qualities and character that not all other people possess.
Results only determine whether you are good at academics.
If you're not good at that, no use crying over it forever.
Instead, pull up your socks and work doubly hard; or switch to another academic route which you will feel more comfortable with.

Come on people, having bad results is not the end of the world.


And for those who have done well, or have met your own expectations, dont be vain.
Instead, improve on the areas that you were weaker at.


4L07 is sooner or later going to be disbanded.
So don't mull over it.
You will get a better Civics Group.
Just meet up at most once a month to talk and reminisce.
Too much gatherings in one month just causes one not to miss the class as much.
And end up having a speechless/not-so-exciting outing.

I don't think I will really be posting alot in the near future.

Lastly, 4Lians, I really do think all of you have been great boys and girls in the last 24 months.
I sincerely hope all of you will go up and on, doing the right things for college, for nation, becoming Auspicium Melioris Aevi (hope for a better age). Remember, nil sine labore (nothing without labour).

Another modern-day principal who thinks tt more curriculum time = smarter pupils graduating. (That's the VP by the way)
Just from the "Study 10h a day" strategy to "More curriculum time" strategy, we can see why it had been honoured the TOP VALUE-ADDED skl every year since its founding.
Compare this to AHS (which has similar mugging strategies, if not more).

Some kind soul (eg SABRINA), please help me edit and put the person's name beside the number for easy viewing. I'm rushing this thing out and will be going on a 'world tour' a few hours later. And ya, i didnt bother to put the stream in.

In the meantime, please look at the right panel for the person's name and register no. If you dowan your name to be here, please tag on the tagboard and someone please delete the info there.

Seems like most of the ppl love MTV (i.e. Meridian, Temasek, Victoria).
However, some prefer the studying in the opposition area, Potong Pasir (i.e. St Andrew's), while a very minority of the ppl have the honour of getting into one of the top JCs in Bishan (i.e. Raffles).
Surprisingly, National and Hwa Chong have been forgotten by the 4L citizens.

Note:
Since MJ and SAJ are rising in popularity, another JC review will be conducted (aft my world tour) to better inform everyone abt the two rising JCs and many others.

Please tag if you have a successful 'appeallation' into any other JCs/MI (Millenia Institute). Hopefully, someone will change it for you.

For those who got into the JC/MI you want, CONGRATS!
For those who didnt, dont despair as this is only PAE, lasting for a few weeks.
Just enjoy the orientation brought up by the JCs and see whether the skl suits you.

  With a sports complex located far away frm the academic blocks, it's actually considered a sport if you are walking frm the blocks to the complex.
  The Sports Complex boasts:

  Two Volleyball courts
  Three Long jump pits
  

  Not to forget an air-conditioned gymnasium, dance studio, air rifle range and a stadium gallery. The gallery overlooks a multi-purpose sports field and a standard 400 metres running track.
  

• BBQ PITS!!!
  No need to book those ex BBQ pits at Pasir Ris.
  The budget pits are here!
  It's really more advisable to throw $$$ to the skl rather than throwing it into the Pasir Ris sea.
  
  No more going-to-jun-hao's-hse-for-FREE-bbqs.
  Just ask him to bring the $$$ down and enjoy the same free bbq session, only without the sea for us to throw our rubbish into.
  
  It says:

• Dining
  Say NO to canteens.
  It's the TJ's very own CAFETERIA!
  Yes. CAFETERIA.
  

  Cafeteria
  There are nine stalls in the cafeteria offering a wide and affordable variety of
  food, including pasta, Malay food, and Chinese rice and noodle dishes. Halal
  food for Muslim students is available at two stalls. Snacks, drinks and
  fruits are also available.
  The stalls are: Tropicana Haven, Temasnack, Wild Wild West, Noodle Parade, Oriental Delight, Chicky Gourmet, The Wok, Kampung Delight, and Aunty's Corner
  Additionally, the hawker centre and 7-11 located opposite to TJC are frequented by students during lunch time. Apart from providing more variety and convenience for students, they serve to cater to students at late hours -when the stalls in the cafeteria are closed.
  Waffle/bread from the nearby bakeries are also a popular choice among TJCians.

  Of course, expect higher prices of food with the addition of 2 more letters to the word 'CANTEEN' to become 'CAFETERIA'.
  
  
  Of course, there is competition within the CAFETERIA to 提供大众化的选择，低廉的价格，以及优质的服务.
  Students love it, stallholders hate it; its the:
  
  VENDING MACHINES
  
  

  Vending Machines
  Vending machines situated in the cafeteria make packet/canned drinks available to students at all time of the day.(Vending machines selling snacks are not allowed due to MOE's restrictions.)
  

  
  Ohh.. It's only competition to the drinks stall, i see.
  A practical place to have practical for the subject 'Economics'.

And here's my personal favourite:

• LIBRARY!
  

  Library
  The modern and spacious library houses books (fiction and reference),
  multimedia, magazines and newspapers. A specific area in the library is also
  set apart for selling Subway sandwiches (Subs) and cookies, as well as Nestlé mashed potatoes, iced lemonade and peach tea. Students can do work and read materials from the library in this area set for consuming food.
  

  
  No, I dun give a damn about the 'food allowed in library' strategy.
  It's the service of the librarians which make u feel sooo 宾至如归!
  Because of this, TJCians are found to be sleeping in the library, just like when they are at home, even though there was a "NO SLEEPING" sign.
  
  This was what happened during the open house:
  Some of us were walking into the library to explore the prospects of joining LIBRARY CLUB as a CCA in TJC. The moment we enter:
  "Hello. Welcome to the library."
  It was a guy seating behind an empty table just situated in front of the library entrance.
  We later discovered tt there was no books, no homework, no entertainment with him there. He was obviously putting alot of time and effort into his job. "Current chairman of library club", i guessed.
  And before we walked out:
  "Thank you. Please visit the library again."
  Imagine you were there.
  ...

  The paid NLB ppl wouldnt even bother to say hi to u when u enter their libraries la..
  
  
• Photocopy Shop
  

  Photocopy Shop
  The photocopying shop, otherwise known as the Zap It, is located in a canteen.
  Lecture notes, tutorials and past-year exam papers from GCE as well as other
  top-five JCs can be purchased from this shop, for paranoid students. The shop
  also provides photocopy service to students.
  Besides the shop, students can also photocopy in the library.

  Hope it's not like our dear 'Pioneer Bookshop' (or smthing liddat) in our ex school (AHS).
  

So this is a review of the top 5 JCs based on the PSLE Prelims entry score.
Looking at the time now (9.56pm), the PAE should already have closed its doors..

OK. Nevermind. Just a guide for those intending to go into JC aft O Levels results released.
Look out for the bottommost-JC review (tentative).

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!

It was recently debated in the last parliament that there should be a class outing.

The bill submitted by our Deputy Prime Minister, Jie Si, was approved in the Parliament shortly it was brought up.

The Second Reading of the Bill is as follows:

Class outing is on 4th week cause some people have camp on 3rd, and most people prefer 4th. Then ask them if they want a day without lessons or what, and see who got suggestions on what to do.

As the DPM is currently in Malaysia for a Religious Forum (or simply, Church Camp), the President was requested to help report on the bill.

A referendum will be conducted. Get your voting slips from below the tagboard.

Debate in the tagboard and give some suggestions before the 3rd Reading is conducted. The people from the Presidential Council for Minority Rights, eg, PED Lee, should also study the bill.

Please vote and give your suggestions ASAP. Referedum ends Saturday, 16 June.

Good morning girls and boys.
After meeting up with the various presidents around the world (DOS Meeting), I am finally free. I am greatly sorry for the all the unhappiness caused without 'Laugh Out Loud'.

You asked for it... here comes...



(B) A DOG NAMED SEX

Everybody I know who has a dog usually calls him "Rover" or "Spot", or even 'Spice' (in Yihan's case). I call mine Sex. Now, Sex has been very embarrassing to me.

When I went to the City Hall to renew the dog's license, I told the clerk that I would like a license for Sex.
He said, "I would like to have one too!"
Then I said, "But she is a dog!"
He said he didn't care what she looked like.
I said, "You don't understand. ... I have had Sex since I was nine years old."
He replied, "You must have been quite a strong boy."

When I decided to get married, I told the minister that I would like to have Sex at the wedding.
He told me to wait until after the wedding was over.
I said, "But Sex has played a big part in my life and my whole world revolves around Sex."
He said he didn't want to hear about my personal life and would not marry us in his church.
I told him everyone would enjoy having Sex at the wedding.
The next day we were married at the Justice of the Peace.
My family was barred from the church from then on.

When my wife and I went on our honeymoon, I took the dog with me.
When we checked into the motel, I told the clerk that I wanted a room for me and my wife and a special room for Sex.
He said that every room in the motel is a place for sex.
I said, "You don't understand. ... Sex keeps me awake at night."
The clerk said, "Me too!"

One day I entered Sex in a contest.
But before the competition began, the dog ran away.
Another contestant asked me why I was just looking around.
I told him that I was going to have Sex in the contest.
He said that I should have sold my own tickets.
"You don't understand," I said, "I hoped to have Sex on TV."
He called me a show off.

When my wife and I separated, we went to court to fight for custody of the dog.
I said, "Your Honour, I had Sex before I was married but Sex left me after I was married."
The Judge said, "Same here!"

Last night Sex ran off again.
I spent hours looking all over for her.
A cop came over and asked me what I was doing in the alley at 4 o'clock in the morning.
I said, "I'm looking for Sex."

My case comes up next Thursday.
Well now I've been thrown in jail, been divorced and had more damn troubles with that dog than I ever foresaw.

Why just the other day when I went for my first session with the psychiatrist, she asked me, "What seems to be the trouble?"
I replied, "Sex has been my best friend all my life but now it has left me for ever. I can't live any longer being so lonely."
And the doctor said, "Look mister, you should understand that sex isn't a man's best friend so go get yourself a dog."
